Bathroom renovation, work in progress

Here is a few pics of the current bathroom we have been working on:

Before:

During work:

We had to change the design of the bathroom to accommodate a bath and a shower enclosure, previously there was only a bath. This meant removing all the existing pipework (waste and water supply) in the bathroom. After that we brought in new hot and cold pipework from the airing cupboard and ran new waste pipe work into the floor.

You can also see the new tiles going up, we are using porcelanosa squares white, with squares cherry vertical strips to highlight certain features in the room (bath taps, basin and shower valve)

More pictures will be available in the bathroom section of the website when the job is complete.

I was using my sawhorses today and remembered about this video we made:

We used to have a pair of plastic sawhorses but they broke at the hinge. I realised that they were too weak and didn't want to waste anymore money on something which will just break again. I saw a homemade sawhorse / trestle table and decided to make my own pair. Check out our youtube channel for more info on this, and other projects.

As a side note: I can make these to order, if you want to buy a pair, or however many you require, then contact me via the email on our website: www.lowes-services.co.uk for pricing info etc.

New toy!

We got a new tool recently, here is a pic of Sean posing with it, lol.

We had to chisel out the floor of this bathroom to install new waste outlets for the basin, toilet and shower. The concrete was extremely hard and our current tool (we have a dewalt 5kg sds max hammer drill) was struggling. Instead of risking ruining the drill we decided to buy a proper breaker.

The tool on display in the pic is a 15.5kg Titan breaker from screwfix. I would definately recommend this tool as it seemed to chisel out the floor well, a lot better than a hammer drill. Here is a pic of the destruction we did to the floor!

We have just completed this bathroom:

This was a complete bathroom renovation. The existing bathroom suite and tiles were removed, we installed the new suite: Bath, basin, toilet, and towel radiator. We also installed a shower over the bath and shower screen. The tiles are large white tiles with a porcelanosa cherry tiled strip. The end result is very nice. Its nice to see a bit of colour returning to bathrooms.

Visit the pictures section of our website soon for the complete set of pics.
